[Note: this blog post did not post at first. It was written Monday morning, before the next post entitled "Fabulous Day One."]
Fell into bed at 9 pm, slightly heard Frank stirring around 6, and just dragged myself out at 8.
Coffee...well, I just mixed up a sleeve of freeze dried instant something, added something pink (sweetener) and a Coffee Mate. Not so bad, when you're desperate. On the menu last night was Nescafe instant. Hmmm. However, on the bright side, I just asked Siri (my phone) where the nearest Starbucks is and there are two within a couple miles. That was just added to the agenda!
Today is full of promise. My dear friends Randy and Colleen's son Matt lived in Turkey for a couple years, and he has hooked me up with a local woman to be my personal guide. I've asked Guzin to show me how to use public transportation to get from the hotel to Sultanahmet, show me where to eat lunches for two weeks, and basically get me set up to maximize my time. Very exciting.
I will close with the view out my window - rather industrialized looking here on the Asian side of things.
