But this below has to be my favorite find. It is a picture book, organized by category, and you point to what you're in need of. Brilliant. It is a small book, 5" x 6" x 1/3 inch thick, and it will go everywhere with me. Such a relief. Between that, photos of the sites I want to see, and the hotel address, I should be set.

Books
I enjoy books. The library, some well traveled friends, and Barnes & Noble have provided me quite a collection to peruse in anticipation. I hand copy pieces and parts, have assembled a loose itinerary, have photocopied some maps, and have mounted it all in a journal which will accompany me every day. I like to be prepared, and not waste time once I'm there. After hours of study this week end, I feel almost ready to set off. Once there, I will journal and paste in little bits and pieces of my day - business cards, receipts, that sort of thing...

The Tourist Picture Dictionary is ingenious!
ReplyDeleteGreat that you have one and the peace of mind of having it to fall back on. After seeing the stack of books you're wading through, it'll be very interesting to see where you actually go! Kristi
