A little bit of heaven

First of all, may I whine?  I spent over two hours at a WIFI accessible cafe after my Turkish bath, and blogged on my ipad ALL about this most heavenly experience.  I saved it locally, and then published it.  And poof, it was gone.  I had a very lovely afternoon, at an outdoor cafe near Aya Sofya, drinking tea, having lunch and blogging, but to lose all the blogging is a bummer.  :(  I guess my Apple app does not appreciate my Google Blogger.

I slept until 10 am, which was the first delight of the day.  Once I got my day pack packed, which is the longest morning process, I took a cab to the metro in the pouring rain, and then took the metro to Kadikoy, and then the boat to Eminonu and the tram to Sultanahmet.   First stop was the Aya Sofya where I bought 72 hour Museum speed passes for Frank and I to use this week end.  And then on to my Turkish Bath.

Heaven.  Simply heaven.

Spent the afternoon blogging about it (grrrr) and relaxing.  Gorgeous, sunny, breezy, less humid.

I took the boat back to Kadikoy to meet Frank.  He had not been anywhere but work yet, so I am now his tour guide.  We went back to Eminonu, took the tram to Sultanahmet, looked around at the sites for a bit, and had an enjoyable evening at Dervish Cafe.  We had dinner, sipped Turkish tea, watched a Whirling Dervish, and smoked the nargile.  (Frank wanted to have that experience as well.)

I was VERY excited to see a Whirling Dervish, although this was a little light... for show, not meditative trance.  But a Dervish nevertheless.

I just downloaded a new blogging app, so that I can blog on the run.  We'll see.  So far it looks WAY simpler, and it uploads the photos in a smaller size so it should be quicker.

For now, it is time for bed.  I will *try* to upload one photo.  Good night!
